The Directorate for Emergency Response/Operations is responsible for police emergency response and operational matters with a focus on guard and district services. The police stations are organizational units for the guard and change service and for the district service. In the Steinfurt district police authority, the GE directorate includes five watches (Steinfurt/Ochtrup watch, Rheine watch, Ibbenbüren watch, Emsdetten/Greven watch and Lengerich watch) and the command and situation service.

Furthermore, the contact officer for Muslim institutions is responsible for building trust with Muslim institutions and imparting knowledge about Islam within the police force.
