Attempted burglary

(jd) On Sunday night (03.08.), a resident of Brauerstraße heard loud noises at around 2.00 a.m. and switched on the light. She then saw a shadow outside the window of the detached house. An unknown person had apparently placed a ladder on the wall of the house and was trying to open a window. Apparently disturbed by the homeowner, the person fled. According to initial investigations by the police officers who arrived, the ladder came from a neighboring property: the owner noticed in the morning hours that her ladder was no longer in the carport. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking possible witnesses to contact them on 05221/8880.
