Children are our future. They inherit the world we leave behind. However, they only inherit if they survive - including in road traffic. Prevention has and means the future!

The two dedicated colleagues from the Steinfurt traffic puppet theater - Frank Lösch and Thomas Höving - have this goal firmly in mind and are touring all daycare centers in the Steinfurt district with a child-friendly play.

Stopping at the curb

Stopping at the curb before crossing the street is a fundamentally important building block in early childhood traffic education. This very complex procedure is often a difficult task for children to master without making mistakes.

That's why Frank and Thomas and their budding police dog "Wuschel" help the children to cross the road safely. In the play, the kerb is renamed the "STOP stone". With a little rhyme, the children learn step by step how to cross the road correctly at a pedestrian crossing.

Information for parents

To ensure that parents are also well prepared when accompanying their children in road traffic, the two police chief inspectors offer regular information for parents.

This is done without pointing a finger at the children's level of development. The correct way to secure children when taking them in the car is also addressed.

An all-round successful package that the police in the Steinfurt district have been putting a lot of effort into for many years. Grateful children's eyes and declining accident figures among the smallest road users are enough proof that this effort is still worthwhile.
